Posted on Sunday, August 21, 2016

Joy Lindsay (member ARCS Foundation Minnesota Chapter) was the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal’s 2016 Titans of Technology Hall of Fame honoree, an award which “recognizes an individual's leadership in assisting and accelerating the performance of the tech industry.” Joy, President of StarTec Investments, a venture capital firm, is a member of the board of the Minneapolis High Tech Association (MHTA) and, as noted by the MHTA and the Journal, has been active with several organizations, including the Sofia Angel Fund (which focuses on women-led companies), Gopher Angels, MN Cup, and the University of Minnesota’s Holmes Center for Entrepreneurship. Through StarTec, she funded 26 Minnesota-based start-ups. Joy is a graduate of the Carlson School (’99 MBA). Prior to co-founding StarTec Investments, Joy worked at West Publishing in various capacities, and was part of the team that arranged for its sale to Thompson Reuters.

Joy says, “I was involved with the initial formation of the Minnesota Chapter. I am passionate about technology, science, entrepreneurship, and innovation so the ARCS focus on supporting outstanding students in STEM fields was a natural fit. I have truly been amazed by the scholars and their accomplishments.”
