Council of Advisors Helps Shape ARCS Future

Posted on Wednesday, October 18, 2017

ARCS Foundation Council of Advisors brings the most experienced leaders from chapters around the country together to advise ARCS National Board of Directors on new initiatives and future strategy. Comprised of women with extensive leadership experience at both the chapter and national level, the council’s purpose is to identify and suggest strategies for advancing the mission of ARCS Foundation and strengthening the organization. This year’s council was appointed at the September ARCS National Board Meeting, which took place September 14-16 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Members of the Council of Advisors play a critical role in the leadership of ARCS Foundation nationally. Each year, the national president identifies a few key topics for strategic consideration by the council. Serving for the current fiscal year as advisors are:

Carol Stockman, Chair, Pittsburgh Chapter

Donna Casey, Northern California Chapter

Vicki Glant, Seattle Chapter

Bennetta Kelly, Illinois Chapter

Anna Maria Matteucci, Phoenix Chapter

Sandra Matteucci, Phoenix Chapter

Margaret McGann, Utah/Seattle Chapter

Judith Miller, Los Angeles/Utah Chapter

Caron Ogg, Oregon

Penny Papadopoulos, Phoenix

Nancy Spetzler, Phoenix

Andrea Thoreson, Seattle Chapter

Yolanda Walther-Meade, Los Angeles

The chair of the Council of Advisors is slated by ARCS National Nominating Committee, is a member of the national board of directors, and helps govern the organization as a voting member of the national board. Carol Stockman, 2017-2018 Council Chair, says that she looks forward to leading the council as it tackles the current questions faced by ARCS Foundation. “This group of women has extensive service in leadership positions and is uniquely suited to assist ARCS in continuing its forward movement. The Council of Advisors is a great place for creative, talented leaders who have served in past leadership roles to contribute to the mission of ARCS Foundation’s national board, and I am excited to see how the council assists ARCS Foundation as it continues to innovate and adapt in a changing world.”
