Oregon Chapter Receives Third Endowed Scholar Award

Posted on Friday, February 7, 2014

A generous charter member granted $200,000 to fund in perpetuity another ARCS scholar award to doctoral students at OHSU.  The donor wishes to remain anonymous.  This gift, called the Fairway Fund Endowed Scholar Award, joins the Ogg and Silver endowed awards which support scholars at both OHSU and Oregon State University.  The new endowment was announced at the Scholar Awards Luncheon, providing an exciting kick-off to the Oregon Chapter's 10th Anniversary celebrations.

"These endowed awards demonstrate that ARCS Oregon is committed to advancing science in Oregon into the future.  We are fortunate to have such generous, forward thinking donors who inspire our graduate students and our Chapter members.  These endowments are a reason why our Chapter is, and strives to remain, Light Years Ahead," states Jean Josephson, President of the ARCS Oregon Chapter.
