ARCS Foundation is the largest private membership organization in the United States focused on supporting U.S. science scholars.
Members donate their time, talents and financial resources in order to foster academic excellence and research in the sciences, technology, engineering, mathematics, and medical research.
ARCS Foundation scholar award recipients decide how best to use the funds to pursue their academic research efforts.
100% of all donations to the annual ARCS Scholar Awards Campaign are distributed to top graduate scholars in the sciences at seven highly ranked Northern California universities.
The goal of ARCS Foundation Northern California Chapter's annual Scholar Awards Campaign is to disburse all funds raised in the form of unrestricted financial awards to top graduate students pursuing studies in the sciences, technology, engineering, math, and medical research at Stanford University, San Francisco State University, and the University of California at Berkeley, Davis, Merced, San Francisco, and Santa Cruz.
ARCS Foundation NCC achieves this goal by fundraising from its members, individual non-members, foundations and corporations. The annual Scholar Awards Campaign begins at the start of the ARCS fiscal year, July 1, and continues through June 30 of the following year. On that date, the Chapter disburses all Scholar Awards Campaign funds raised during its fiscal year to selected departments at its partner universities.
