2023 Minnesota Achievement Rewards for College Scientist (ARCS) Foundation Scholars

We are seeing every day that:  Science is the Solution!

ARCS Foundation believes that support of STEM education is essential to U.S. economic growth, technological competitiveness, and continued global leadership. To address the country's need for new scientists and engineers, we fund prestigious ARCS Scholar Awards to help the country's brightest graduate and undergraduate students create new knowledge and innovative technologies.

The Need....

The average PhD student graduates with $125,000 in debt. 

• ARCS Awards help reduce the debt load and encourage top scholars to focus their important research.

More than 9 out of 10 Scholar Alumni say their ARCS Award had a significant impact.

• 85% said it allowed them to spend more time on research;
• 81% said it was important in completing their degrees;
• 94% said it provided valuable moral support.

How Does Giving Help Minnesota?

1. Our ARCS Scholar Awards are an essential tool for recruiting the best scholars in the nation to come to Minnesota. 
2. When you make a contribution to the ARCS Minnesota Scholar Award Fund, 100% of your contribution is given directly to a student at the University of Minnesota.
3. ARCS Scholars make a significant contribution to Minnesota’s economy by strengthening the scientific and engineering research programs at the University of Minnesota. 
4. Through networking opportunities and corporate mentorships, ARCS Scholars are encouraged to remain state residents after they complete their degrees and enter the working world.

Make an Investment in the Future

1. Named Scholar Award Fund

Donated by an individual, organization, or corporation, this provides one student with a two-year award of $5,000 per year. Contact us at minnesota@arcsfoundation.org for more information.

2. Donate to the Scholar Award Fund

Gifts of any size to the Scholar Award Fund support our scholars. Visit our online donation page.

3. Women can become members of the Minnesota Chapter

Members have the opportunity to participate in a number of organizational activities, special events, and committee activities.  It’s an outstanding way to enhance your network and explore issues related to the sciences.  Membership dues are $250 per year.  See our Membership page for details about application.
