12:00 pm - 5:30 pm - Registration Open
6:00 pm - Welcome to Atlanta! The Atlanta Chapter of ARCS is "Opening Doors" and hosting small dinners at members' homes for their first impression of southern hospitality. We are excited to offer attendees the opportunity to meet members from other chapters and get to know people in a small casual group setting in the comfort of a private home. We look forward to entertaining all attendees and welcoming them to our city and to our homes.

8:00 am - Breakfast
9:00 am - Kick off session titled Combining Higher Education with Science & Technology Creates Innovation with Paul Brown, CEO and Co-Founder of Inspire Brands 
10:30 am - Tour at the National Center for Civil and Human Rights 

Atlanta is known worldwide as "the cradle of the Civil Rights Movement." The center chronicles the dramatic history of the Civil Rights movement through interactive exhibits. 

1:00 pm -  Shepherd Center Tour and boxed lunch

At the renowned Shepherd Center, ARCS visitors will have the unique opportunity to be given a private and special briefing and tour, not offered publicly. Taking part in our visit will be the Hospital’s Chief Executive Officer Sarah Morrison, with a special welcome from Alana Shepherd, the Hospital’s Founder.  We will also learn, first-hand, about Shepherd’s adolescent programs and unique forms of therapy to treat brain and spinal cord injury. This is an educational experience not to be missed.  

4:30 pm - Bus departure from tour to the hotel 
6:00 pm - Reception and Dinner at the hotel

9:30 am - Breakfast and speaker Dr. J. Marshall Shepherd, Director of UGA's Atmospheric Science Program and Full Professor in the Department of Geography on "The Extreme Weather Climate Gap: Vulnerabilities to our New Normal"
10:45 am - ARCS Scholar Panel and Presentation with Hannah Holmes, Georgia Institute of Technology, and Hemali Oza, Emory University. 
12:00 pm - ARCS Light Award presentation and lunch at the hotel
2:00 pm -  Afternoon Tours

6:30 pm - Cocktails & Dinner at the Capital City Club  -  Founded in 1883, Atlanta’s Capital City Club is located in the heart of downtown Atlanta in a building dedicated in 1911. Over the years, the Club has hosted Presidents Grover Cleveland, Wiliam Howard Taft, and Franklin Delano Roosevelt, and has among its members many of the most prominent business, education and cultural leaders of the City. And now joining that list of distinguished guests will be members of ARCS, as we enjoy an evening and dinner at The Capital City Club.
