Hawaii Undersea Research Laboratory biologist Christopher Kelley will describe “Minivan-sized Sponges, Beautiful Corals and Lots of Other Weird Animals” recorded on deep sea dives by NOAA ship Okeanos Explorer’s remotely operated vehicle. The evening will open with wine and pupus and include a peak at the UH Exploration Command Center, where researchers participate remotely on Okeanos Explorer cruises. Kelley is science lead for the three year CAPSTONE (Campaign to Address Pacific monument Science Technology, and Ocean Needs) project. Co-sponsored by ARCS Foundation Honolulu Chapter.
