The San Diego Chapter of the ARCS (Achievement Rewards for College Scientists) Foundation is one of 14 chapters that are dedicated to helping the best and brightest United States students by providing graduate scholarship support in the natural sciences, medicine, and engineering. For academic year 2006-2007, ARCS Foundation chapters contributed over $4.4 million to 544 students at 43 colleges and universities.
Since the San Diego Chapter's charter began in 1985, 712 scholarships totaling $5,247,000 have been awarded to graduate and undergraduate students attending The Scripps Research Institute, San Diego State University, University of California, San Diego, including Scripps Institution of Oceanography, and University of San Diego. For academic year 2007-2008, the San Diego Chapter will award $437,500 to 55 ARCS Foundation Scholars. Annual scholarship support ranges from $5,000 to $15,000.
