First Priority

The number one priority of ARCS® Foundation is supporting university students in fields of science, technology and medical research.

ARCS Foundation is the only private foundation of its kind, giving 100 percent of every dollar raised for merit-based awards to university students at the top of their fields.

ARCS Foundation Chapters are the direct interface with students. Over a 53-year history, ARCS Foundation Chapters have provided more than 13,650 scholar awards to “best and brightest” students at America’s leading universities. The national ARCS Foundation invests in Chapters by establishing them and supporting their ability to provide scholar awards.

ARCS Foundation spends approximately $30,000 to create a new Chapter, and in every case that investment is returned many times over with significant scholar awards. Within their first year, Chapters are capable of funding students.

The long-term stability of ARCS Foundation depends on a strong base of support to 17 Chapters around the country. At the National level, a strong Endowment Fund will provide support of existing Chapters and establishment of new Chapters, thereby increasing support to a growing number of scholars.

Great Achievements Campaign

With our mission and ambitious goals ahead of us, ARCS Foundation has embarked on a three-year Great Achievements campaign to increase the National Endowment Fund by at least $1 million by 2014. The fruits of the Great Achievements campaign will serve to create future Chapters in targeted regions of the United States. A robust endowment will also support the ongoing operations of ARCS Foundation, as well as major new initiatives such as the National website and database.

ARCS Foundation National Endowment Fund

ARCS Foundation exists to ensure our country’s scientific excellence.

The greater the ARCS Foundation National Endowment Fund, the greater our potential future impact on science, technology and innovation in the United States.

Education Advocacy

ARCS Foundation advocates for increased scientific education and research through the National Academies of Science, ARCS Scholars and their universities, and the media. In recognition of our efforts and achievements, ARCS Foundation has received numerous awards, including the CASE 2009 James L. Fisher Award for Distinguished Service to Education.

Tracking ARCS Scholars

ARCS Foundation maintains contact with current and past students for assessment and feedback. ARCS Scholar alumni are our greatest ambassadors for all Chapters and the National organization.

Informing the Public

The National Endowment Fund will provide future funding to operate an upgraded website and database that will provide greater opportunity for the public and our donors to stay informed about science, science events, ARCS Foundation activities, and student research and accomplishments.
