The Colorado Chapter provides scholarships to students at the following schools:
A student receiving a scholarship must have a high scholastic record and demonstrated ability, be a citizen of the United States, and be in need of financial assistance. Selection of the students is made by the institutions receiving the funds without regard to race, creed or gender.
The recipient colleges and universities selected by the chapters must be approved by the National Board of the ARCS Foundation. The awards to the students, both graduate and undergraduate, are administered by the institutions receiving the allocation.
Members of the ARCS Foundation are volunteers who willingly and enthusiastically donate their time, efforts, and financial support on behalf of the students. All scholarship fund solicitation expenses are underwritten and all services are provided by ARCS Foundation members. Because one hundred percent of every dollar donated goes directly to scholarships, ARCS Foundation, Inc., provides a way corporate and civic organizations and individuals in the community can combine their resources and efforts to support American scholars, helping to insure a better future for all.
ARCS Foundation awards for basic scientific education are the largest of any private membership organization in the United States.
The ARCS Foundation is an all-volunteer women's organization dedicated to helping provide an education to the most promising science, engineering math, and medical students..
The deans and department heads at each of ARCS Colorado Chapter's recipient schools choose the scholars and administer the scholarships at no charge. The relationships with the schools are excellent.
The women of ARCS spend time getting to know the recipients of the ARCS scholarships, giving them encouragement and confidence in their abilities. The students are grateful for the personal attention as well as the monetary assistance to their education.
Past scholars often support the ARCS Foundation financially and/or become members of the organization.
In 2001, ARCS Alumni Scholars donated enough money for the Colorado Chapter to award its first ARCS Alumni Scholarship.
